This is a series of illustrations inspired by the assault against the souls of black people in the media. In these times, it's more important now than ever to look at ourselves and love what we see.
Advertising and media create images of people that are sold as perfection. Many times in the process of photo-shopping and image manipulation, black figures are altered to appear like white figures. Noses are made smaller. Skin is lightened. And before you know it - the blackness has been washed away. This series of portraits seek to re-emphasized those things that have been rubbed out of these perfect images that consume our minds.
